The Capacitive Touch Keyboard uses the MPR121 IC from Freescale with 12 touch sensitive keys/pads. This module talks via I2C interface which is quite easy to connect up and use. It is designed to work with 3.3V as well as 5V systems and has the level shifting logic included on board to support both 3.3V and 5V signals.

 

The MPR121 IC detects the touch by measuring change in capacitance of touch pads. When we touch the pads with our fingers the capacitance of the particular pad changes which it detects to find out which pad is touched.

 

We found this IC easy to use and very accurate as compared to other ICs in market and hence we made this beautiful module for your touch sensing needs. The module comes complete with all the necessary components required to interface with your MCU just plug it in.

 

Comes fully assembled and tested with your choice of 6 Pin 0.1” (2.54 mm) header of your choice - Male 180°, Female 180° ,Male 90°, Female 90° (If you want a header of your choice , please leave a message in the order page in my account section. Else, it will be shipped with Male 180° header).
